Karawang Immigration Office Escorted the Return of a Taiwanese Citizen Cared for by Former Migrant Worker

KARAWANG – The Karawang Class I Non-Checkpoint Immigration Office escorted the return of Huang Zih Ming, a foreign national from Taiwan who was cared for by a former migrant worker from Karawang, Siti Aisah. Huang Zih Ming returned to Taiwan on Thursday (06/07/2023) via Terminal 3 of Soekarno Hatta Airport with a flight schedule at 02.40 p.m. and arrived at Taipei Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 09.15 p.m. local time. "The decision to repatriate Huang Zih Ming was a request from his family. Therefore, the Karawang Immigration Office along with the Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) and Siti Aisah agreed to respect the decision while still prioritizing humanitarian values," said the Head of the Karawang Immigration Office, Barlian Gunawan. During his journey, continued Barlian, Huang Zih Ming was accompanied by 4 (four) people, namely Siti Aisah, one representative from TETO, and two healthcare workers. Upon arrival in Taiwan, Huang Zih Ming will be picked up by representatives from Indonesia Economic and Trade Office (KDEI) to undergo a medical examination at a hospital. During the process, Siti Aisah will continue to accompany Huang Zih Ming. The cost of repatriation/deportation of Haung Zih Ming will be borne by his family. The process of repatriating Haung Zih Ming is carried out in accordance with Article 78 paragraph 3 of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration. The article explains that any foreigner who has overstayed more than 60 days can be deported and included in the prohibited entry list. "However, for humanitarian reasons, Mr. Huang Zhi Ming can still return to Indonesia and not included in the entry ban list," he concluded.
