Re-scheduling Passport Services Can Be Done One Day Before or On the Day of the Interview
JAKARTA – People applying for a passport at immigration offices throughout Indonesia can now re-schedule their passport application one day before (H-1) or on the scheduled date of arrival (H-H). This adjustment to immigration services is intended to accommodate people who feel the need to change their passport interview and biometric collection date for security reasons.
"We understand that recent situations may have affected applicants' sense of security when traveling, especially for vulnerable groups. Therefore, passport applicants who want to reschedule one day before can do so via M-paspor, while for same-day rescheduling, they can directly contact the social media of the destination immigration office to be assisted by an officer," explained the Director of Travel Documents, Visas, and Travel Documents, Eko Budianto.
Eko further explained that this policy was implemented to provide certainty of service amidst the current uncertain conditions and to maintain operational effectiveness at all immigration offices in Indonesia.
Although face-to-face services in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Tangerang areas only ran for half a day on Friday (29/08), as of September 1, 2025, immigration office services throughout Indonesia have returned to normal operation. People who need to can reschedule their passport application without any fees. This service will be in effect until there is a new policy update from the government.
"We urge all people to remain cautious and always monitor the latest information from official sources. Immigration is committed to continuing to provide the best service for the public," Eko concluded.
