  • Foreign Nationals can be granted a change of status from a Visitor Stay Permit (ITK) to a Temporary Stay Permit (ITAS) based on a request.
  • The application for the change of ITK to ITAS must be submitted at least 30 days before the expiration of the Visitor Stay Permit.
  • The application for the change of status from Visitor Stay Permit (ITK) to Temporary Stay Permit (ITAS) is submitted by the Foreign National, Sponsor, or Responsible Party through an application to the Head of the Immigration Office.
  • The change of status from ITK to ITAS can be granted to Foreign Nationals holding ITK for activities:
  1. as an expert;
  2. as a worker;
  3. as a clergyman/clergywoman;
  4. foreign investment;
  5. scientific research;
  6. pursuing education;
  7. family reunification;
  8. repatriation;
  9. second home;
  10. undergoing medical treatment; or
  11. Foreign Nationals based on reasons beneficial to the welfare of society and/or humanity.
  • ITK Visitor Stay Permits (ITK) originating from Visa on Arrival (VoA) and Visa Exemption cannot be changed to other Stay Permits.
  • Applications for the change of ITK to ITAS submitted and immigration fees paid before the expiration of the ITK period will not be considered as overstay if the processing of the Stay Permit change exceeds the ITK period.

General Requirements:

  • valid and still effective National Passport containing Visa and Entry Stamp, as well as Visitor Stay Permit (ITK);
  • proof of sponsorship from the Sponsor in case of having a Sponsor;
  • identity card and/or family card of the Sponsor or Responsible Party (if applicable).

  1. Acceptance of application submission
  2. Taking a photograph
  3. Verification of immigration fee payment in accordance with the provisions of the laws and regulations
  4. The Head of the Immigration Office or designated Immigration Officer forwards the application to the Director General

Note:

  • The Immigration Office will electronically notify the Foreign National, Sponsor, or Responsible Party that the application documents have been received.
  • If the attached documents contain errors or deficiencies, the Immigration Office will electronically notify the Foreign National, Sponsor, or Responsible Party to rectify or complete them within a maximum of 2 days from the notification date. The application will only be accepted if updates are made during this period.

 

  • The application is forwarded by the Head of the Immigration Office to the Director General of Immigration within a maximum period of 3 working days from the date the immigration fees are received. The Director General of Immigration decides within a maximum of 5 working days from the date the application is received by the Director General of Immigration.
  • The virtual Temporary Stay Permit is electronically sent to the Foreign National, Sponsor, or Responsible Party.
