Batam — The Regional Immigration Office of Riau Islands, along with all Immigration Offices in Riau Islands, is holding the "Eazy 1000 Passport" electronic passport service program at Grand Batam Mall on May 17-18, 2025. This program is being carried out in response to high public demand, with 26,680 passports having been issued from January to April 2025. To address the limited daily service quota and access on weekdays, this service is held on weekends with a quota of 1,000 passports.

Carrying the theme "Rise My Indonesia, Rise My Immigration Services: Digitalization of Transparency-Based Services," this activity is part of efforts to improve service quality and is a proactive step by Immigration in meeting the public's need for easy access to government services.

The Head of the Riau Islands Regional Immigration Office, Ujo Sujoto, stated that this activity will continue to be held on weekends and national holidays so that more people can be served.

"This Eazy Passport activity is to facilitate applicants who cannot process their passports on weekdays. Going forward, we will regularly hold similar services so that the public feels the presence of the state. Therefore, please continue to monitor us, give us feedback if there are shortcomings in the public service process. We are open and ready to make improvements," he said.

Immigration also involves the community of persons with disabilities in the service process, as a form of strengthening the role of people with disabilities in bureaucratic administration. In addition, 60 selected applicants also have the opportunity to receive a doorprize in the form of a free passport.

"We want to ensure that this service can be accessed by all groups, involving them in the service is our way of ensuring service equality and that no one is left behind."

The Deputy Governor of Riau Islands, Nyanyang Haris Pratamura, in his speech expressed appreciation and hopes regarding the relationship between Immigration and the Riau Islands Government. "We express our appreciation and thanks to Immigration for the relaxation provided, we are also working on having a mobile passport service in each sub-district," he said.

Also present was the Director of Visas and Travel Documents of the Directorate General of Immigration, Tato Juliadin Hidayawan, who stated that the implementation of this activity is in line with the acting Director General of Immigration's directive on service digitalization. "Furthermore, this program will also be continued in various other regions to expand access to immigration services. We have also provided a special visa policy for the Riau Islands region, namely a 4-day visa-free visit for Singapore Permanent Residents, so they must enter and exit through Riau Islands," Tato concluded.
