Immigration Deploys Patrol Task Force in Bali to Maintain Regional Stability and Security
BALI - The Minister of Immigration and Corrections of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Andrianto, inaugurated the Immigration Patrol Task Force (Satgas) in the Bali region on Tuesday (05/08), asserting Immigration as the Leading Sector in Foreigner Supervision. The inauguration ceremony, held at Benoa Port, Denpasar, was attended by approximately 500 participants consisting of elements from Immigration, Corrections, TNI, Polri, Civil Service Police Unit (PP), and Pecalang (traditional village security). In addition to the ranks of the Directorate General of Immigration, the inauguration was witnessed directly by the Governor of Bali, the Chairman of the Bali Provincial Parliament, the Bali Regional Police Chief, Pangdam IX/Udayana (Regional Military Commander), the Bali High Prosecutor's Office Chief, and a number of heads of vertical agencies and provincial-level departments in Bali.
"The formation of the Immigration Patrol Task Force is a follow-up to the President's directive to ensure stability and security in Bali as one of Indonesia's main tourist destinations," explained Agus. The legal basis for the Immigration Patrol Task Force includes Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, Article 66 paragraph 2 letter b, and Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 31 of 2013, Article 181.
Agus further explained that the Patrol Task Force was formed to provide a quick response in the event of violations; to suppress regulatory violations by foreigners in Bali; and to create a sense of security for the community.
To ensure effective patrols, the Task Force will involve 100 immigration officers, each equipped with a safety vest and a body camera (bodycam). Officers will patrol using motorcycles or immigration patrol cars at 10 strategic locations within the working areas of the Ngurah Rai and Denpasar Immigration Offices, including: North Kuta (Canggu); Seminyak, Kerobokan; Matahari Terbit and Benoa Port; Pecatu (Uluwatu, Bingin); Mertasari Beach; Kuta and Gianyar (Ubud) sub-districts; and Nusa Dua, Jimbaran.
In this regard, the Acting Director General of Immigration (Plt. Dirjen), Yuldi Yusman, explained, "The Team Commander and Patrol Officers will patrol predetermined routes, especially in areas prone to immigration violations or areas where foreign national activities are concentrated. The patrol schedule is carried out periodically and randomly to avoid predictable patterns," explained Yuldi.
This task force inauguration strengthens the commitment of Immigration, which has shown significant performance achievements. Based on statistical data, the Directorate General of Immigration has carried out administrative immigration actions (TAK) in the form of 607 deportations and 303 detentions during the period from November to December 2024. This number increased sharply in the period from January to July 2025 with 2,669 deportations and 2,009 detentions. Meanwhile, the number of foreigners who were legally processed during the period from November 2024 to July 2025 reached 62 people.
"In the future, we will continue to intensify similar operations, both on a local scale like the routine Task Force Patrols and on a national scale like Wira Waspada. This is to help maintain national security stability, provide a deterrent effect to prevent violations, and maintain public trust in immigration," concluded Yuldi.
